A Brief Overview Of Ibiza’s Restaurants
Nov 16
Whilst you are most likely to spend your time sunning by the pool, and partying, there is a lot more to Ibiza than those activities alone. A cultural haven too, you should also make time for the delights that Ibiza’s restaurants can offer.
Whilst it is always good to submerge yourself in a local culture, you may find the traditional Ibicenco dishes a little too piquant for your tastes. However, with more standard Spanish restaurants everywhere, and a host of cuisines from all over the world, there is surely to be something to tempt you.
If you so desire, you can even spend a night or two tasting the food that the Netherlands has to offer. A popular destination for the Dutch, Ibiza’s restaurants are not simply limited to standard offerings you would expect to see anywhere.
The prices for food across the board is impressive, however, for truly great savings you need to head for the Spanish and local restaurants. At lunchtime, (anywhere from eleven to four most days), the “menu del dia”, will see three wonderfully presented courses, accompanied by a bottle of local wine, be yours for just about ten Euros!
You could of course elect to stay with what is offered through your resort. However, whilst these are generally of a high standard, it is outside of the resorts that the real gems can be seen. Try also to move away from the tourist traps; head into the hills and along the western coast for excellent service and quality.
Good weather and good times are a byline for Ibiza, and there is no reason why you shouldn’t enjoy the excellent food that Ibiza’s restaurants serve up on a daily basis. A word of warning though; as summer season peaks, some less than wonderful places do open. When deciding which place to dine out, spend a little time looking at the clientele. The rule of thumb here, (as with anywhere in the world), is if the locals like it; they must be something right.
