you know people….being a brazilian, i know that brazil’s government doesn’t allow big companies to cut trees from amazon, but small unhautorized companies do that, and there’s something worst, there are people that sells jungle animals, such as the beautiful arara to other people(illegally of course).Yes, and it’s not Brazil only, there are other countries invading the Amazon too.

“Humans haven’t been on this planet long enough to do anything significant”
..hmm…Currently, according to the IUCN, the extinction rate is 100 times the average suggested by the fossil record (source: the Guardian), the idea that humans cant affect this planet significantly is mad, we are causing a mass extinction right now. look at the world around you, we have changed so much, so dramatically in such a short amount of time. And we cant even affect anything as fragile as the climate? Unlikely

You haven’t learnt properly. Uninformed pople love this little cliche, but actually the Amazon is a closed system. It consumes all the oxygen it creates, because the trees are old and big. When forests are growing, they do produce more oxygen than they consume. That is why actually working on a responsible industrial development plan would actually open up the system. Take it from a professional forester that actually lived there. Not touching it does NOT help.

So from what I have learned in school. Rain forests is the lungs of the globe. I am hoping that the forests around the globe will help keep oxygen in the atmosphere. Mankind is destroying the planet due to greed. I always say greed kills at all levels. what you think?

    Please watch my video.

It’s about climate change, earth catastrophe and our planet as we lives in.

Recent Earth catastrophes, it’s about Earth Changes – Continental Drift: One huge continent became 2 continents,
then 5 (or 6) and then?

Well, I guess if Yankees were the problem, then you fighting to the last man would certainly settle the population problem.

    Um… yeah.

Who’s invading Brazil again? Clue me in. All I see is brown people with loin cloths on, chopping down and bulldozing trees.

    Apr 16, 2010 @ 10:07:33

You’ll fight to the last man? Against what, the trees? You’re winning then.

We don’t have to destroy the planet. Unfortunately, humans reproduce like rabbits.

lol… It’s all the American’s faults, not the Brazilians who deforest the land for farmland and for the lumber to support their growing populations. No, not that! It’s all the American’s fault! lol. Maybe that’s why most of Brazil wanders around in loin cloths, because they’re so intelligent and evolved.

Mmmm…. More Brazilian beef please! Yummy! No, you don’t HAVE to sell it to me, but you will anyway. HAhahahaAHAHahaahah!

The Bureau of Meteorology says figures showing Australia has experienced its hottest decade since records began in 1910 are clear evidence of climate change.

The Bureau’s annual report has found the average temperature over the past 10 years was 0.48 degrees Celsius above average.

Climatologist David Jones says each decade since the 1940s has been warmer than the previous one.

Let’s get this straightened out. Studies show that it is normal for the earth to heat up and cool down. Now the concern is over whether or not we humans are creating a significant amount of greenhouse gases to influence this. Whether we are making any notable difference on global warming or not, we humans have been changing the environment for thousands of years. I think the toxicity of our pollution should be a much higher concern than global warming.

Ever heard of climategate?? The science behind global warming is a hoax…you’re embarrassing yourself.

Wow you really are uneducated aren’t you?? You do KNOW that the research on global warming was fraudulent right? Why do you support this hoax?

explain the problem of acid rain in japan? keep in mind the natural causes, lightning/volcanoes are not to blame. rationalize how smog in places like los angeles and china are not man’s fault and have no effect on the surrounding environment.plz without bringing climategate or any politics into this, they mean nothing to me when you have obvious problems

    Apr 16, 2010 @ 15:26:31

We now know man does not cause climate change, and that is is a huge political SCAM, we know that people are not responsible for the Amazon drying up. I know you have some bizarre need to think everything’s going to hell, but things are not that bad. And yes, people who believe Gore are lemmings. Look up climategate – don’t be afraid to educate yourself – it won’t hurt, I promise. Also, I think you mean maslow’s hierarchy of needs you wannabe intellectual goofball couldn’t even get that right.

  24. BlakMagik417
    Apr 16, 2010 @ 15:37:10

Your simple disregard for any responsibility of your actions or the environment is amusing. You want to see a lemming, look in the mirror. You are what politicians love, the humans who rank so low on Mazlow’s Law that they are merely content with being told what to do and following around the sheep

I think this happens because Rainforests create rain and help fill up the river, once the trees get cut down there is no way to bring the water down to the river.
