Consolidate your errands into weekly trips instead of making trips on a daily basis. If you have a neighbor, perhaps talk to him or her about starting a car pool that can save on gas bills and save the environment. Certainly don’t keep around amplifiers and excess speakers if you don’t need them. Even as much as fifty pounds more can have a dramatic effect on the gas mileage of your car.
If your current vehicle seems to be wasting gas more so than it should, it might be time for a new vehicle. There are some tax credits available for buying energy efficient cars- namely hybrid cars and electric cars that help reduce the need for fossil fuel. Depending on where you live, you may qualify to get a large discount this tax season and also save on energy costs each time you fill up.
