there any largemouths or peacocks in that pond? i’ll tell you what the fishing down there seems absolutely awesome. so much variety. i’m on my way down to ft. lauderdale next week and im looking for some place i can hook up to some largies and peacocks from the bank or a kayak. don’t think it should be too hard to find a place!

They are not Tambaqui (black pacu) that you are seeing…they are common pacu and yes they get very big. Try fruits like grapes, strawberries and bannanas to catch them. Oh yeah and…HANG ON!

Nice video! I’m sure I saw one of these Pacu hooked but not caught in the everglades on 5-2-09. I didn’t know what it was at the time, but after some research and watching your video I’m sure it was a Pacu in the 20-30 # range, and what an powerhouse they are!

Yeah, it was pretty big. Looked like he put up a hell of a fight. Wish I could go down there one of these days. I didn’t think FL was this cold right now. If pbass are currently alive, then the water has to be a tleast 80 degrees.

Did you see the pacu video I uploaded a few weeks ago?? I got a bigger one that was 16 pounds 8 ounces on a strawberry. The vid is on my channel.

Well, IDK about the fly as any species of pacu are not insectivores but, definitely on a smaller spinning reel.
