South America is a large region in the South of the USA. There are some major countries that make up the continent include Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Cayenne, Peru, Lima, Uruguay and more. Spanish and Portuguese are both largely spoken languages in South America, although French, Dutch and English are also spoken.

South America is a continent, which is rich in culture, and has influences from Portugal and Spain due to the connections of the regions with Europe. South America is also a wonderful destination due to its hot weather and good natured people; South American cuisines are mouth-watering and it offers several historical sights to explore.

Normally, you will get a lot of flights to Latin America however they are not economical from UK. But there are also means to get cheaper flights like you have to avoid booking your tickets on the weekends mainly Saturday, and you can also try to take an indirect route (your tour operator will generally take of these points). Some of the airlines that operate flights to Latin America are Iberia Airlines, Continental, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic. Most important destinations of Latin America where you can fly to are Sao Paolo, Mexico, Quito, Rio, Havana, San Jose, and Santiago. You will not face legal problems while entering with a valid UK passport. There are some places which are known as problematic zones for travellers in Latin America so it is very important to check whether the place is safe or not before visiting to it.

South America’s climate greatly varies; there are a series of dry desert regions in Chile and Peru, but the weather conditions of the Amazon are humid and tropical. The hottest climate of the region can be experienced at Argentina’s Gran Chacowere; the climate can soar up to 44 degrees centigrade. While tourists the major parts of Latin America, you can anticipate sunny weather, so remember to carry sunscreen and other protections with you.

South America offers several interesting things to do. While in Venezuela, you can see Angel Falls, which is the highest waterfall in the world, which measures 321 feet. It is 15 times higher than the Niagara Falls. You may take an upriver raft to enjoy views from the bottom of the falls and take voyage to see it from a different view. Rio Carnival held in Brazil is the world’s biggest and brightest carnivals.

This is held in the early February, but you must book your flights soon else you may not get one. When you are in Rio, keep some time aside for visiting Corcovado Mountain, and enjoy the Sugar Loa Mountain Day Tour. This excursion will take you to the exciting rain forest, and you can enjoy viewing attractions like Christ the Redeemer statue, located on the mountain.

If you visit Chile you can trek to an ancient wonder of the world the Machu Picchu which is an Inca Ruin. The Incas were discovered in the ’00s but now is visited by tourists worldwide. Don’t forget your camera! South America is picturesque, whether it’s the landscape or the people.
