One of the most expensive parts of any trip is airfare and has things you can do to reduce the price of an airline ticket. Would you like to be flexible in order to compare prices for the time you are around when you want to leave. Also, when the demand for an airline ticket can make a big difference too. Studies show that during the night and early morning may have some great deals to be found. Most people in search of tickets a day and half the price, of course, will be higher then.
With so many discount airline tickets web sites out there that can be confusing to use. The best way is to find three of your favorite sites, then look at them and see what prices. Also, in many cases, you can save money by booking directly through the website of the airlines, as in many cases there are low rates. They are saving money, and who want to build loyal customers there too. Do not buy the first ticket to be found even if it is not, because in most cases, there will be other sites that offer good deals too.
Remember that the search for discount airfare is not difficult to make, but you have to look far enough in advance so you can find at an affordable price. Also looking for late night or early morning may be a good option for you. Ticket prices change throughout the day, so you have to check prices during the day to find the best deal for you.
I’d like to take a vacation with wife and 12 yr. old daughter in Caribbean or Costa Rica in mid-March (NOT durin public school vacation), but due to some health issues our ability to take the vaca is uncertain. Usually I book winter vacas many months in advance, but if I am going to take on this year I’ll need to do a “last minute” vacation.
How hard will it be to accomplish this on a last minute basis? What travel web site/travel agent would be best to help me with this? Thanks!

March is during “prime-time” in the Caribbean (mid-Dec to mid-Apr). However, that shouldn’t deter you from taking a wonderful vacation.
Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic is the best value in the Caribbean and all the resorts are “all-inclusive” – meaning your accommodations, food, beverages (including alcohol), activities, gratuities, and taxes. The weather is beautiful and the resorts and beaches are great.
Either contact a travel agent directly or go on line to www.applevacations.com and check-out everything. They have full details and pictures of all the hotels, and you can design your own package and switch the hotels in and out until you have exactly what you’re looking for. Then it allows you to send what you’ve created over to a local travel agent to take care of everything for you at no additional cost! Apple always has “last minute specials”.
Don’t obsess over the fact that you need to book at the last minute – a lot of people do.
