A tour of the beautiful Refugio Amazonas lodge in the Tambopata Reserve in Peru. A part of the Amazon, this resort is situated in the most bio-diverse area in the world. The lodge is green and made of local materials. Electricity by generators is only available for a few hours per day, there is no hot water, and there is an emphasis on low impact tourism. The rooms are open-air facing the jungle, with large rooms but only curtains for doors. The resort has a multitude of activities in the jungle (canopy viewing, blind viewing, tree climbing, fishing, jungle treks, etc) and is very remote. When the lanterns are turned off at night, it is pitch black. An awesome experience in the Amazon! Shot in August 2010
This program compares and contrasts the two main forms of tourism found in the Amazon: nature tourism and ecotourism. It considers the types of experiences offered by each and explains how each affects local populations. The program highlights the negative elements of nature tourism and considers the environmentally friendly practices that characterize ecotourism.

Smooth, downtempo grace flows through the veins of St. Germain, a.k.a. noted French composer-producer Ludovic Navarre. His record is a sensual flow of jazzy textures, Latin rhythms, and bass-ridden beats, hovering on the verge of techno, jazz, or experimental headphone music without tipping its hand too far in any direction. The result is irresistible: class with an edge. –Matthew Cooke…
