All inclusive caribbean vacation deals?

Hi,

My friends and I are broke student teachers who would like to take a 5-6 days vacation in the caribbean (puerto rico, dominican republic, or any place cheap and island-y!).

I searched Expedia, Hotwire and all the usual places, and they’re all so expensive, almost over $1000/person, and none of these places include meals.

I’m hoping to get travel sites or travel agencies that offer all inclusive packages for a reasonable price ($800 max). Any information would be super appreciated.

Thank you so much!

- Angie

Well the cheapest rates come when you are either planning WAY in advance or if you’re wanting to take a spontaneous trip- usually if you look a week or so before the cruise they will have very cheap rates. Just keep searching online looking for cheap tickets- it might take some time but if you’re diligent you should be able to find something. Best of luck!

A Guide To The Eden Project

If you’re planning on taking a holiday in Cornwall this year then the Eden Project is one attraction you shouldn’t miss. If you’ve ever wondered what walking in a tropical rainforest would be like ( without the dangerous insects and reptiles ) then you can enjoy the planet’s's biggest greenhouse. The closest large city to the Eden Project is St Austell but there are loads of places nearby to stay should you would like to visit.

The greenhouses are built within an enormous clay pit. Even though the greenhouses themselves are the primary attraction there are a bunch of things to see outside if the weather is acceptable. Once you enter the project you’ll be met by the 2 main greenhouses, a bunch of smaller gardens and in a few cases a stage where shows take place throughout the year. You check the Eden project website for more information on the location and times of shows before your visit.

The largest greenhouse is the tropical one and this is what the majority come to see. As the name implies this is where all of the tropical and exotic plants are kept including pineapple plants, coffee and bamboo. Thanks to the environment that these plants need the greenhouse is kept at a warm temperature all year around so be sure you wear light clothes. The Eden Project is kept open across the whole year so if you’re visiting on a cold day bring a jumper or coat that may be easily removed.

The second greenhouse is crammed with Mediterranean plants. Although it isn’t quite as large as its tropical opposite number there’s still plenty to see inside including a variety of plants and sculptures. There’s also a comparatively new attraction called The Core which is aimed at training children about the climate, plants and general environmental concerns. The Core building in itself is worth seeing as it’s built in a technique to mimic plant life.

Though taking a look at plants in a greenhouse may not sound like the most exciting trip for kids you’ll be stunned by the amount the Eden Project has to offer . Aside from the natural interest that youngsters have in the environment and plants there are plenty of other attractions including play areas and workshops. There’s also The Core which includes hands on experiments and attractions for youngsters. There will always be something for the kids to do and they’re guaranteed to enjoy the trip.

The Eden project is unquestionably worth visiting whether or not you aren’t staying close by. If it is one of the attractions that you definitely would like to see then it is smart to look for a holiday cottage in Cornwall that’s's relatively close though. The closest major town is St Austell but the attraction is inside driving distance of Newquay, Padstow and Bodmin. It’s often a good idea to check the journey time before booking a villa or house though as the journey from the far corner of Cornwall is a long one. This is especially critical if you have babies.

Vacation Rental Homes

Many people that go on vacation prefer to rent a home in their destination rather than staying in a hotel. Most of these people do this because it gives them the freedom to cook their own food and eat out when they like without missing set meals that they have already paid for.

It can be more difficult to find such a vacation rental than just booking a hotel reservation. However, most holiday makers say that the endeavor is worthwhile. There are a few points that you should check up on if you are not to be disappointed when you get there.

It is very useful if you have friends or family living in the destination locale and if you do have this advantage, you should use it, but all is far from lost if you do not. There are often agencies for these kinds of vacation rentals as many people who live in such places rent their homes out in the peak period and they do this through those agencies.

There are also quite a few web sites specializing in home rentals for vacational purposes. Some of these Internet agencies just charge on behalf of the property owner and others can arrange swaps, which is a terrific, low-priced way to travel the world.

The surveys that these web sites carry out are typically quite comprehensive, containing such predictable details as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, but also such information as whether there is a phone, a car, bicycles or scooters on the property, along with distance to the shops, main road, airport, train and bus stations.

However, if you have any questions still unanswered, you are usually encouraged to ask them directly to the property owner via the agency’s web site. It is a good idea to rent a vacation home through a rental agency for security purposes, because if a problem does arise then you have a mediator on hand. In these situations the agency would handle the whole affair, up to the point of criminal proceedings.

You may also like to ask about the age of the property, because often the day to day maintenance of the place is down to you while you are there, as are breakages, unless those things are covered by the owner’s insurance policy.

You should also find out whether you are allowed to use the home owner’s bedding, linen, and towels etc.. Often you just treat the house and its contents as your own, unles a cupboard or door is locked and you have not been given the key.

One last bit of advice is to get suitable directions. Places that you are not well-known will look very different in the dark than they do in the daylight, particularly if the property is out of the way.

Therefore, if you are expecting to arrive late or if there is a likelihood that you might be held up, ask for photographs of key points taken in the twighlight. It will make certain that you get to your destination vacation home rental with no difficulties.

Holidays To Dubai Worth Every Penny

Vacation choices can include different things for different people. Exotic locales such as Dubai in the United Arab Emirates offer people a chance to try out anything and everything they can think of while on vacation. Holidays to Dubai can be expensive or they can be cost efficient, depending on where a person chooses to stay.

Dubai boasts a great number of luxury resorts. Many of these hotels are shaped like castles or palaces. Others take their focus towards golf courses and greens, encouraging people to bring the family along on their trips. Because Dubai has of late become a technologically advanced staging ground in terms of architecture, there are many shoreline reclamation projects and whole islands shaped to look like giant palm trees from above. Many of these islands hold expensive homes meant for those seeking privacy and decadent shoreline living.

Golfing is a major tourist attraction in Dubai. The elegantly landscaped greens attract millions each year and one course has even been voted in the top one hundred golf courses outside America by Golf Digest. Picture slicing into the air and watching the ball rise up and then down over the slow green slopes, the ocean’s azure waves creating a stunning background.

Dubai has a touch of modern in many of its tourist areas. One new hotel has a massive aquarium that brings in dolphins from the South Pacific ocean itself to frolic next to a rare whale shark. Guests can rent rooms that have a glass wall giving them a view of the aquarium itself day and night, so they can experience the view of the underwater Atlantis construction as well as colorful fish and swimming rays.

More than one hotel resort can say that the architecture and comforts they offer were directly inspired by old world Arabia. Stand-alone two story rental homes imitate the traditional courtyard summer houses of the ancient world. Accessed via the shore and waterways or by paths that meander through exotic gardens, the homes come in two styles and are perfect for small groups and families seeking privacy on their holiday.

As well as having mile after mile of shoreline, Dubai of course has a large expanse of desert. Tucked against some mountains and nestled within a desert conservation area is a hotel oasis that allows visitors to experience the natural flora and fauna of Dubai. Treks by camel back and guided desert tours are available as well as all the other amenities a luxury resort should offer, such as fine dining and swimming pools. Guests can also discover and try their hands at falconry, exploring the natural wonders of Arabia.

There are so many other things to see besides extensive golf courses or warm desert adventures. There are also historic national monuments such as Sheikh Saeed’s house, a throwback to older Arabic times and a showcase for Dubai history. An old market also stands not far away, perfect for visitors to glimpse Dubai’s old history as a pearl trading port. Potters and weavers alike still sell traditional wares. Beyond historical sites, there are also attractions such as an indoor snow dome for real skiing and water slides that cut through the tops of palm trees and offer rides that actually catapult riders through shark enclosures.

Different tourists and visitors to Dubai are looking for different things. Holidays to Dubai can cover all interests and tastes, from the exotic and luxurious to the active and athletic. People seeking privacy will find it here, and those looking to touch a piece of history won’t be disappointed.
