No offence or anything, but if you know the history of the Quechua you’d know that originally they didn’t live in the Amazon. The Incas tended to stay away from the rainforest because it was too foreign an environment to them. It was only after the Spanish arrived and forced enslaved Quechua to work in the Amazon that they lived there in any sizeable numbers. Therefore this lifestyle is a relatively “new way”.
