This New York locksmith is a mobile NY locksmith. He drives around and answers calls of people who need help with their locks. He is on his way to help a woman who locked herself out of her house. She was a pain on the telephone when she spoke to the NY locksmith. The NY locksmith wonders as he drives to the woman’s house if she will keep up her level of obnoxiousness without having a heart attack. He arrives at his destination grabs his tool box and walks up the driveway to meet the woman.
He fixes her lock and she is now calmer. She asks how she can not have this problem again. He says she needs to buy a different brand of lock.
He drives off to his next job reminding us that he has not had a traffic accident in a whole year and that he lives by the credo that safetiness is next to Godliness. The next call he makes is at a house with another Baldwin lock.
The next job requires that he repair the inner mechanism of the same lock he saw on the last call. If you messes up the calibration even a little it will mess up the way the lock is supposed to work. So he takes his time with this call.
The next call is to a parking lot where a woman has locked her keys in her car and she does not want to miss an appointment. The NY locksmith uses a slim jim, a window wedge and window seal pusher. He uses the pusher to clear an opening and slips the wedge to hold the space open. He then uses the slim jim, a thin metal device into the opening.
He feels for the lock release. He pulls the wedge down to see into the door panel. He sees what he is looking for and pulls the release with his slim jim and yanks the door look and it springs open. The teen is grateful and gets on the road so his dad will not miss his appointment.
A NY locksmith will use a manual wedge and a door stop to unlock your car when you cannot get your key. He will also use an air wedge. This slips between the door and the door frame. He then pumps it up and this allows him to reach his tool inside. He will use a lasso tool for older cars that have the old door locks. He reaches in with the lasso and pulls the lock latch up.
He uses what is called a Japanese tool which he can work with the thumb style locks. He uses the auto buster which is good for GM cars with the slide locks. He also has the slide tool and as the NY locksmith refers to it the old faithful slim jim. In his arsenal the NY locksmith has an array of tools to help him get in when you lock yourself out.
