Truck Driving Is More Than A Occupation But A Way Of Life

Carrying my load along interstate 5 with the radio playing as well as clean mountain fresh air flowing through my locks, I understood that trucking is more than a job but it honestly is a way of life. Driving up the area highways in the northwest, a huge elk grabs my attention from very far off, I decelerate and have a once in a lifetime view of a large bull with antlers covered in velvet. In reality, he looks at me personally using a cavalier gait and rather quickly makes his way into the deep North West deep forest.

Certainly one of my most favorite landscapes was just outside Savannah, Ga on interstate 16. As I gazed over the swamp, the sun had just risen and was reflecting off the still darkish water. The beautifully shaped orange sun peaked through the draping Cypress branches & Spanish moss which ornamented the wonderfully engaging dark waters of the pristine natural wonder. This for sure was the very best sunrise I had ever viewed. I even now enjoy spending the evening in Savannah whenever I can, and wake to the sunrise supplied by Mother Nature’s natural wetlands

There is the fact that truck driving is among the toughest occupations you’ll have. Facing weather conditions, regulations, gas prices, highway detours, accidents, mechanical failure, you name it you are generally facing it. Just about all truck drivers are generally awake beforehand in the A.M. to get ready for that days journey.

I have seen other truckers stock up for weeks in case they come across trouble and have to lay out a big prime rib. It isn’t unheard of to observe truckers in the northwest with grills mounted right on the truck. Whenever you need to cook up supper you can do it in style just like home as well as maybe invite a couple of trucker buddies for a trucker gathering.

It can be difficult to find a big truck without a TV or a laptop computer. The internet helps truckers to stay connected and handle passing time. There is a growing trend of truckers who use cell phones and apps for connecting and sharing their voyage on the route. Websites like twitter and facebook allow live blogging and phones like the Iphone allow easy video and photo sharing as well. Not only do cell phones allow great communication but they enable truckers to better keep an eye on travel time using GPS navigation.

There are plenty of old school truckers even now working the long interstate routes that don’t rely on modern day hot gizmos. You might say trucking is really a field that banks on human intuition and plain old common sense. Getting enough food, water, fuel, chains, and courage is what it takes to drive a huge 18 wheeler today.

Not only can trucking be a risky business but it takes certain type of spirit to drive a large rig. So next time your on the road to see a big rig, bear in mind that they were most likely up and running before you perhaps woke up. Truckers move America and help us take pleasure in the things in our everyday living that all of us use everyday. Trucking is more than a job but a way of life, let’s hit the road truckers.
